The College of Business Part-time MBA Program ranked No. 17 in the United States by BusinessWeek Magazine
The part-time MBA program of the College of Business of the University of Nevada, Reno is ranked No. 17 in the United States by BusinessWeek.
BusinessWeek started gathering information from 340 part-time MBA programs with full accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), the highest level of accreditation in business education, in December 2006. Of the 340 schools, only 81 advanced to the second round of the project where the 30 part-time MBA programs were selected for the final rankings.
The ranking of the UNR MBA by BusinessWeek is a big news and is a strong reflection of the quality of the program’s students and faculty. The commitment of the MBA Office, headed by Associate Dean Kambiz Raffiee, and leadership of the College of Business under Dean Greg Mosier reinforce the quality of the UNR MBA program. The College of Business has a high number of premier faculty members that are internationally respected within their fields of expertise. Each faculty member is active professionally, sharing their real world experiences with students in the classroom. The faculty professional knowledge and academic rigor provide students of the MBA program with the tools they need to have successful careers.

Fall 2007 Supply Chain Management 462 Managing for Quality class students worked on two yellow belt projects at the Dell facility in Patrick, Nevada. One team identified and studied ways to improve the way employees deal with special shipping items, while the other team worked on labeling requirements and how the company deals with products that need to be tested. Many of the recommendations’ the teams made have been implemented or have been recommended for implementation at Dell facilities nationwide.

Marketing 210 uses innovative format for instruction
Marketing is using a new format for organizing the traditional 16 sections of the Principles of Marketing, MKT 210. This new large class format will allow professors to handle more students with fewer faculty resources. The Center for Regional Studies announced its presence through the Regional Development Summit 2008 on March 28th. The event was held at the new Joe Crowley Student Union and was attended by over 400 investors, developers, builders, and others associated with economic development in the region.
